An honour to be part of ‘Nephkids 2023’- Chennai last weekend organised by Team-Apollo Children’s Chennai! It’s always an honour to be part of the team and Dr M Vijayakumar Medal Exam (a mentor whom we all loved dearly) and Dr Nammalwar Oration. A meeting I always look forward to! Also amazed to see active participation by postgraduates of Chennai & JIPMER Pondicherry.

This is a story of a child whom I know since she was 5 months old. Her brother died of renal failure at AIIMS and we diagnosed hyperoxaluria in both of them. She slowly progressed to ESRD, and underwent a cadaveric combined liver-kidney transplant at Medanta Medicity 5 yrs back. Today she achieved 91 percent in 10th standard and completes 5 yrs of her transplant and #team Medanta, The Medicity is proud of her!

An honour to be at the 52nd Annual Conference of Indian Society of Nephrology. Spoke on ‘Challenges in Dialysis in Neonates & Infants’. It was exciting to share what’s coming in near future in our country in the field of PD & blood based therapies for smaller kids as well!

Blessed to be loved by my pediatric kidney patient who has grown to an adolescent & a friend! He made ‘our’ perfect sketch and even got it framed! A pediatrician can’t get a better gift!
