There’s a need to have more anti-complement drugs in Indian market. Eculizumab is costly and difficult to procure, at times when it’s needed. We have used Eculizumab in past at multiple instances and published our experience. From next year, our center would be part of multinational, multicentric trial for a new subcutaneous C5 blocker Crovalimab

We recently published one of derivation & validation of STARZ neonatal AKI Risk Stratification Score. This week we publish validation of the STARZ score on group of 750 prospectively followed babies from DMC Ludhiana, Punjab, India in ‘J Neonatal Perinatal Medicine’. The impact of fluid balance on outcomes in premature neonates: a report from the AWAKEN study group.
This study evaluated the epidemiology of fluid balance (FB) over the first postnatal week and its impact on outcomes in a multi-center cohort of premature neonates from the AWAKEN study. Positive peak Fluid balance [FB] during the first postnatal week and more positive FB on postnatal day 7 were independently associated with mechanical ventilation [MV]
