Hematopoietic cell transplantation is a therapy to treat neoplastic & metabolic disorders, hematological diseases, & fatal immunological deficiencies, but a common complication is AKI. Presenting to you, â€˜Neonatal AKI Risk Stratification Score-STARZ Scoreâ€™ which we published this month in â€˜Pediatrics Researchâ€™ journal (Nature Publications). The score has been developed on more than 700 newborns from 11 centres across India and serves as an important score to risk stratify newborns at risk of AKI early. The STARZ acronym is named

Current Issue of Saudi Journal of Kidney Disease & Transplantation has an excellent paper on Pediatric AKI from Srinagar, India.Â The incidence of pAKI in general was 0.8%, whereas it was 4% in critically ill children and 0.5% in general ward admissions implying an eight-fold increased risk of pAKI in critically ill patients.
